DCEC is currently developing a Civic Agenda that will be shared citywide, and will align the work of the community's many organizations and public offices that seek to improve outcomes for students. In this way, the D.C. community can maximize its collective impact to ensure success in life for all youth. The Civic Agenda is centered on four goals:
The Board of Directors of DCEC is committed to systematically identifying Measures of Success that the community can work toward to obtain positive outcomes for students. Each Board member serves on at least one Goal Area Team that is dedicated to seeking partnerships with other civic leaders to help move this Agenda forward. DCEC is also reaching out to stakeholders who are identifying goals, and measures and indicators of success to develop a set of shared metrics. The Civic Agenda, together with the frameworks developed by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), and the Interagency Collaboration and Services Integration Commission (ICSIC), are allowing community-wide thought and action that can improve public education and the success of D.C.'s youth in life.
